Fire and Rescue personnel saved a female doctor from jumping off the sixth floor of the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital here today. Hospital staff spotted the 26-year-old doctor, who is with the hospital, standing on a window ledge at Block C and threatening to jump off.
Kedah Fire and Rescue Department communications officer Md Saad Napi said fire and rescue personnel arrived at the hospital at 10.08am and rescued the doctor 20 minutes later.
“We diverted the doctor’s attention by telling her that a family member wanted to talk to her and, as we passed a handphone to her, firemen pulled her to safety,” he said when contacted by Bernama.
